Academia de Asociados Médicos de Puerto Rico (AAMPR) is the professional organization representing Physician Associates and PA students across the island. We advocate for the profession, strengthen healthcare through education and collaboration, and build a community committed to advancing high-quality, patient-centered care in Puerto Rico.
We are the official Puerto Rico chapter of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA).
About Our Newsletter
First launched in October 2023 and published quarterly ever since, this newsletter serves as a hub created by members, for members. It offers a safe and welcoming space to share opinions, concerns, ideas, and meaningful insights—a true reflection of our resilient and diverse community. Here, we exchange the stories, knowledge, and experiences that matter most to us, both personally and professionally, as the Physician Associate profession continues to grow and evolve in Puerto Rico.
Who We Serve
We serve current and future Physician Associates in Puerto Rico—students, practicing clinicians, educators, advocates, and allies who share a commitment to elevating the PA profession on the island. Our audience includes anyone invested in improving patient care, expanding access to healthcare, and strengthening the role of PAs within Puerto Rico’s evolving medical landscape, with the hope that one day we can better serve the patients of Puerto Rico.
