Social Media Impact & Outreach Update
Since the establishment of a dedicated Social Media Subcommittee in July 2024, La Academia Asociados Médicos de Puerto Rico (AAMPR) has significantly expanded its digital presence and advocacy reach in direct support of its legislative mission to recruit and retain practicing Physician Associates in Puerto Rico.
Through a coordinated, data-driven social media strategy, AAMPR has generated over 55,500 views in recent campaigns, with 70% of impressions reaching non-followers, demonstrating substantial visibility beyond our existing membership and successfully engaging broader medical, policy, and public audiences. This expanded reach has translated into meaningful engagement, with profile activity and external link taps increasing by 171.9% since summer 2025, reflecting growing interest in AAMPR initiatives, legislative efforts, and organizational resources.
These outcomes build upon earlier high-impact campaigns, including 35,000+ viewer engagements in a single week and a single Instagram post exceeding 20,000 organic views through collaboration with PJ Sin Suela, a physician and cultural influencer. During PA Week 2025, targeted content celebrating the profession achieved over 30,000 views, further underscoring the Subcommittee’s ability to amplify awareness and community engagement around the PA role.
Complementing these digital efforts, AAMPR launched a quarterly newsletter in October 2023, which continues to strengthen member engagement, organizational transparency, and consistent communication around legislative updates and strategic priorities. In addition to digital outreach, AAMPR extends its advocacy and educational impact through virtual engagement, including Tyrone Nieves Martinez, PA-C, delivering an inspiring virtual talk to students at the University of Puerto Rico Ponce Campus Medical Student Association in March 2025. This session highlighted the PA profession’s role in advancing healthcare equity and motivated the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Together, these coordinated digital, media, and virtual educational initiatives demonstrate AAMPR’s capacity to leverage culturally relevant partnerships, targeted communications, and direct engagement to advance professional advocacy, public awareness, and legislative success for Physician Associates in Puerto Rico.
